Going to Philmont or Northern Tier? Leading a 50 Miler? Then this class is for you because you MUST have these two certifications, and this is the cheapest, funnest way to get them!
On March 28 and 29, Marin Council will be hosting Bobbie Foster and her Wilderness First Aid Course. She will also on the same weekend offer CPR/AED training, so all in two days (long days true, but only one weekend) you will get the two mandatory certifications to go to Philmont.
Bring a friend because two adult leaders are required to have these two certifications with every crew.
The cost is $165 for a 2-year card that is good for Philmont (that's about $90 cheaper than places like NOLS), and an additional $40 for the extra 3-hour class in CPR and a card for that too (The additional CPR/AED class is Saturday evening). Normally, these courses would be taken over two separate weekends, totaling 3 days (one two day weekend, and another separate Saturday), so this class is super inexpensive and super convenient, and it's at beautiful Camp Tamarancho!
Wilderness First Aid classes are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
Optional CPR class is Saturday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Participants should bring their own lunches, snacks, and drinks for both days.
