Postponed . . . Family Fiesta will now be held in the Fall as a replacement for our Cub Scout Adventure Weekend. The dates are Friday thru Sunday, 9/18-20 at Camp Tamarancho.

What is Family Fiesta?     Family Fiesta is a weekend family camping experience for Lions through Webelos and their families (and Cub Scout aged friends with their families). This camp will introduce the Cub Scouts and their families to some of the activities that can be experienced in our summer day camp programs. Just like at camp, events and activities are run by members of Scouts BSA troops, Venturing crews, and the Order of the Arrow. The Cub Scouts will get an opportunity to meet summer day camp staff and older Scouts, and as a bonus, they get an idea of all the fun and exciting things that await them when they move into Scouts BSA or Venturing.

Theme and Activities     The theme (Bug Hunter) will provide an opportunity for Scouts, siblings, friends, and parents to learn and practice Scout skills, crafts, and values—and maybe earn a patch along the way. Marin Council troops and crews will lead campers in events ranging from field sports, climbing, nature hikes, shooting sports, creepy crawly crafts, and bug exploration. The day will close with a campfire program.

Fees and Registration     Registration is done online only by family—not by pack. The fee is $25 per person (age 5 and older—under 5 is free). This price includes food.

Although this online attendance registration will end on May 8 in the evening, walk-ins are still welcome at the event, but the fee is higher ($30), and there may not be food service available.

Who Can Attend?     Family Fiesta is for the entire family. Adults, Cub Scouts, and siblings. Also, Cub Scouts can bring invited friends who are not Cub Scouts but are Cub Scout age (Kindergarten through 5th grades). Lions can attend, but they cannot do BB gun nor archery.

Camping     Bring your own camping equipment as none will be provided. All campsites have potable water, picnic tables, and a few have brick fire pits. Vault toilets are nearby. If your pack is camping with other packs, please “do your best” and share the facilities.

Invited friends must have an adult partner (parent/guardian, family member) with them in order to camp overnight.

Forms     Everyone must bring parts A and B of the BSA Medical Form as well as a Shooting Sports Authorization form for any youth under 18 that will be shooting. You can download them by clicking this link.

If you or anyone in your group has food allergies, we must receive your medical forms stating so at least a week before the start of the event. Otherwise, we cannot accommodate your diet.

Cost
$25.00 per Adult
$25.00 per Cub Scout
